Installations in the Landscape, Site specific Art or Site-specific-Art ?

The term Site specific Art is derived from the latin "in situ".
Characteristic for Site specific Art are those kind of works, which have been created for a special location and which are only conceivable at this site.

Instead of being placed into the landscape like objects, Site specific artworks integrate the surrounding scenery. So the landscape is not just used as a space or background - it becomes a part of the artwork itself.

Nature (deserts, forests, fields, gardens, lakes or rivers) is seen as a medium of artistic creation. The documentation of a Site specific artwork is not, as often presumed, an inevitable part of the work. Some Site specific artists refuse to dokument the work, because the intended effect of their often ephemeral pieces can not be achieved by a dokumentation.
